2020.04.05 07:52 sonic10158 I made a list of content from the current wave of Boxsets and whether DGM sells them [Part 2]

I made a list of content from the current wave of Boxsets and whether DGM sells them [Part 2]
This is the second half of my list of content from the various King Crimson box sets, as all in one list was too much for one post. You can find Part one of the list here.

THRAK BOX

THRAK BOX
After the end of their 1984 tour, Robert Fripp decided that he had played enough King Crimson and so once again, King Crimson saw a hiatus. However by the mid 1990's, Fripp decided to purchase the Double Trio season pass for King Crimson, which featured the Pat Mastelotto and the Trey Gunn DLCs to go along with the King Crimson lineup of the 1980s. This box set covers this relatively short era. The Box Set was released on October 30, 2015. WARNING: This set is a bit more confusing in terms of what is on DGM Live and What isn't, so I apologize for any confusion.
CD Content-
  1. JurassiKc THRAK - Not on DGM Live
    1. This is a disc containing one track that is 67 minutes long of recording sessions during the making of THRAK. There is a small 4 minute piece available on DGM Live, but that is such a small piece that I do not even consider JurassiKc THRAK as being on DGM Live.
  2. Maximum VROOOM - *Sort of Available on DGM Live*
    1. This is a disc that does not match up with anything DGM has to offer exactly. This is an expanded version of the VROOOM EP, which is on DGM Live for Purchase. However, the rest of the tracks are taken from the VROOOM Sessions album, which is also on DGM Live for Purchase. That being said, VROOOM Sessions has a lot of tracks that do not appear on Maximum VROOOM, nor this box set in any capacity.
  3. THRAK - Original mix (2002 Remaster)
  4. ATTAKcATHRAK (The Vicar's THRAK) - Not on DGM Live
    1. This is a spiritual successor to THRaKaTTaK. It is an all new compilation of improvisations taken from the THRAK era and edited together into a suite of tracks
  5. THRAK - 2015 mix
  6. Byte-Size THRAK - Only a small piece is on DGM Live
    1. This is a compilation of tracks that didn't really fit anywhere else, featuring various live tracks, a single, some edited tracks, a remix, and 3 rehearsals (Jimmy Bond, Sad Woman Jam, and Tony's Jam) that do appear in DGM Live as part of Nashville Rehearsals. If you purchase Nashville Rehearsals, similar with the VROOOM Sessions, you will be getting a lot of tracks that do not appear anywhere in this box set.
  7. Kcensington THRAK - Available on DGM Live Here
    1. The version on DGM Live is short one track, goes by a completely different name, and the way the tracks are laid out are a bit different. The box set has the first portion be 9 tracks and the second be 12 tracks, whereas on DGM Live, the first "disc" is 13 tracks and the second is 7 tracks. The song order is the same, minus the lack of Heartbeat between THRAK and Matte Kudasai. *Fun Fact, this concert takes place on Bill Bruford's Birthday, and Adrian Belew makes a point to sing about it in this concert*
  8. Kcensington THRAK - Second half of Disc 7's content
  9. New YorKc THRAK - Available on DGM Live Here
  10. New YorKc THRAK - Second Half of Disc 9's Content
  11. AzteKc THRAK - Not on DGM Live
  12. This is the entire setlist from the Mexico portion of the VROOOM VROOOM live album (the New YorKc THRAK discs are the complete setlist of the New York portion of it too). You can purchase a CD of VROOOM VROOOM on DGM USA and DGM UK, but the entire setlist is only available in this box set. Just note, if you purchase VROOOM VROOOM, you will only get roughly half of the content of AzteKc THRAK.
  13. AzteKc THRAK - Second Half of Disc 11's content
Blu-Ray Disc 1 Content
  1. THRaKaTTaK - Not on DGM Live
    1. This does not even have a store listing on DGM UK and the DGM USA page is listed as Sold Out. It does not appear under DGM Live as a digital purchase either.
  2. B'Boom - Not on DGM Live
    1. This is not available for digital purchase on DGM Live, and it does not even have a store listing on DGM UK. However the CD of it is available for purchase on DGM USA

Heaven & Earth

Heaven & Earth
To date, this is both the newest released Box Set as well as the most current box set, picking up where THRAK left off after King Crimson begun the fraKctalisation period in 1997 through the late 2000s. Here we see the ProjeKcts era as well as the ConstruKction of Light and The Power to Believe albums from King Crimson. This Box set was released on May 1, 2019 and has easily the most content of any of the box sets thus far.
Note: The ProjeKct album The Scarcity of Miracles was made after the time period of this box set (1997-2008) and therefore is not included in this set. Also, the first Blu-Ray disc has a mixing error causing certain albums to run at too fast a speed (noticeable, but not Alvin and the Chipmunk noticable), if you email DGM with proof of your purchase, they will send you a code to download replacements of all the affected content. Proof can either be a copy of the email you received from DGM when you purchased the boxset, or even a photograph of the boxset with your name next to it. I received my replacement content less than a week after emailing. The downloading worked the same way as if you purchase a tour from DGM Live.
CD Content-
  1. The ReConstruKction of Light - Not on DGM Live
    1. This is a new mix of The ConstruKction of Light featuring newly recorded drum tracks by Pat Mastelotto. If I could compare it to anything, it is like A Momentary Lapse of Reason remix from the Later Years box set by Pink Floyd that completely removed the 80's twang from it, making it a more timeless experience. It is not on DGM Live, however, you can purchase the CD on DGM UK or on DGM USA
  2. Happy With What You Have To Be Happy With / Level Five - Not on DGM Live
    1. Neither EP is available on DGM Live. HWWYHtbHW is not on DGM UK, but is on DGM USA. Level Five EP is also not on DGM UK, but is on DGM USA
  3. The Power to Believe
  4. ProjeKct Two Baltimore May 2, 1998 - Available on DGM Live Here
  5. ProjeKct Four San Francisco November 2, 1998 - Available on DGM Live Here*
    1. This is 2 tracks short of what DGM Live has. The concert is also on Blu-Ray disc 1 and features the whole setlist.
  6. ProjeKct Three Austin March 23, 1999 - Available on DGM Live Here

2018.11.02 14:09 MajGenRelativity MGR's Aurora Chronicles Chapter 3 - What Job Do You Hold?

July 5, 2062: Commodore Lena arrives in the Ross 154 system. From the bridge of the GSS Portland, the officers coordinate the search for alien sensor and emissions signatures, but nothing can be found. Ordering that shields be raised and active sensors turned on, the ships proceed towards the wrecks of the old Northampton Class Cruisers.
At just past 12:00, the 1st Cruiser Division detects the active sensor emissions of the alien Bardiche and Sao Paolo classes to the southeast of the Northampton Class wrecks. While the Bardiche’s sensors still far outrange the New Orleans Class, the gap has closed by a fair margin from the last encounter. Lena orders all ships to close the range, and swears that vengeance will be achieved in behalf of the crew lost in the 1st Battle of Ross 154.
At 12:46:41, the increased experience of Lena and her crews proves vitally important as alien missiles are detected on approach. The improved fire controls of the New Orleans class gave the ships plenty of warning, and the point defence turrets are manned, aimed, and ready for intercept. Five seconds later, a cheer goes up from the gun crews as all 15 missiles are shot down.
For the next three minutes of the fight, the New Orleans class proves its worth, as over 200 Aenar missiles are shot down. Out of the incoming hundreds, only 2 make it through to impact on GSS Louisville’s shields. While it would have been enough to damage an older model, the new shields absorb 100% of the damage and begin regenerating coverage of the ship. After 3 long minutes pass, no more missiles are detected, but the Sao Paolo ship is attempting to close the distance. Not one to deny its death wish, Lena orders the 1st Cruiser Division to also close the range and prepare the 15 cm beam turrets.
Within a couple hours, the Sao Paolo class enters active sensor range of the task force, and a second Sao Paolo class ship was discovered next to the first. It was able to hide so far due to keeping its active sensor off, but it can now be tracked.
At 17:19:11, both enemy Sao Paolo’s close to nominal beam range, but the enemy jamming continues to prevent an effective target lock, and they continue to close the range. Just 10 seconds later, they enter the range of the main batteries on the New Orleans Class cruisers.
At 17:19:21, Sao Paolo 1 is targeted, and 30 15cm laser batteries along with 5 19cm Spinal Mounted lasers open fire. Unfortunately, the enemy ECM prevents most shots from landing, and only a few land and cause some minor damage. 5 seconds later, the 10cm Point Defence batteries open up as well, but GSS Louisville continues to be a magnet for enemy fire. With one engine offline, maximum speed drops lower, but Lena keeps the Division together to allow for concentrated fire.
At 17:19:31, the 15cm main batteries open fire again and hit Sao Paolo 1 with many more shots, but the ship appears fully combat capable. Lena and her intelligence officers note that despite appearing armor penetrations, the enemy ship hasn’t lost atmosphere. While interesting, Lena decides that it’s best to fight the battle first, and as she begins passing out orders, the 19cm Spinal Mounted lasers open fire, with 1 hit inflicted. A mere 5 seconds later, Sao Paolo 1 is destroyed by GSS Astoria. Before the crew can begin celebrating the first kill of any Global Empire warship, Lena passes on orders to concentrate fire on Sao Paolo 2, which has approached very close to the 1st Cruiser Division’s warships.
At 17:19:46, Louisville takes even more hits and loses a second engine, but Sao Paolo 2 is hit by the full might of 80 10 cm guns from all 5 cruisers at point blank range. While some shots still miss, the cruiser was obviously hit hard as the next salvo 5 seconds later blows it up. Louisville struck the killing blow this time, and the crew exercised vengeance not only for the GE ships lost months ago, but the damage inflicted on the ship in the current battle. Lena sets her sights on the Bardiche, and begins moving that way while the Louisville makes emergency engine repairs.
Almost 3 hours later, the 1st Cruiser Division closes to nominal beam range with the Bardiche, but it is also found to have heavy jamming technology equipped. At 20:09:41, the 1st Cruiser Division opens fire on the last Aenar warship detected in system, and riddles it with hits. A few seconds later, the fast reflexes of the ship pilots avert a ramming attempt by the Aenar ship, which appears to be unarmed otherwise, and the Bardiche explodes. GSS Louisville collects its second kill, and Lena orders the Division to proceed in system to see if there are any inhabited planets.
3 days later, Louisville has repaired combat damage to all systems but her armor belt, which holds an impressive amount of holes while still remaining intact. Lena declares that there are no inhabited outposts in the Ross 154 system, and signals the Division that it is time to return home.
On July 9, 2062, another meeting of the Imperial Family is held. While Lena is confident that the New Orleans Class and Farragut Class have proved impervious to Aenar assault, the rest of the family is unconvinced that the classes will prove sufficient in the long term. What everyone can agree on is that the alien ships must be salvaged immediately to uncover the secrets of their technology. Tina wants the secrets of their advanced propulsion technology, Lena wants the secrets of their advanced Fire Control technology and Jamming, Nina wants surviving electronic storage to try to decipher their language and culture, while I want to learn whatever can be found out about the first alien race the Global Empire has ever encountered. One topic of speculation is that the Aenar ships did not appear to contain any atmosphere, nor were any life pod launches noted. The devised hypothesis states that the Aenar ships may in fact be robotic combatants, with no crew at all.
August 27, 2062: While the shipyards are still retooling to build the GE’s first salvage ship, Jump Gate construction begins on the Ross 154 side of the Ross-Sol Jump Point. The 1st Cruiser Division continues to provide security in the event more Aenar show up to further contest the system.
March 14, 2063: While the shipyards go about their slow process of constructing salvage ships, terraforming ships arrive in orbit of Epsilon Eridani A-3 and start to make the atmosphere breathable. It will be quite the momentous occasion when the first planet outside of Sol becomes an ideal inhabitable world for the MGRace.
October 1, 2063: The first 2 salvage ships ever are launched from the Earth Shipyards, and are immediately dispatched to Ross 154 to see what can be found from the alien wrecks. Over the course of the coming weeks, leading scientists and engineers stationed on the salvage ships realize that the alien technological lead may be further than predicted. Thankfully, much research information into advanced Fire Controls and Engine Technology was reverse engineered, and the salvage ships return home.
November 21, 2063: 3 more New Orleans Class cruisers have been constructed, bringing the 1st Cruiser Division up to full strength for the first time in history. With the military front secured for now, the Global Empire turns its attention back to exploration, beginning with the geological survey of the Barnard’s Star System.

Battle After Action Report:
Author: Lena M. Relativity
Date: July 8, 2062
Summary: After much training and hard work on behalf of the ship crews, we have fought the longest and hardest battle ever in Global Empire history, and won it. I am extremely grateful for the timely actions of the Point Defence crews in shooting down hundreds of enemy missiles, which ensured that enough of our strength remained to meet the enemy on superior terms once beam range could be joined. While the enemy armor was thick, we eventually scored enough disabling hits to destroy all 3 combatants.
Future Improvements: Further improvements are necessary in Beam Fire Control ranges, and a counter-jamming device must be developed.
Strategic Implications: The Aenar homeworld must be found so we can force them to negotiate a peaceful existence. Aenar ships may be totally robotic, and if we can increase the automation of our ships, we could gain a combat edge in the long term.

2018.08.31 16:26 MajGenRelativity MGR's Aurora Chronicles Chapter 3 - What Job Do You Hold?

The Great Fire(sale) of Northampton – Career Mode Write-up
The last time there was a major fire in the large town of England was all the way back in 1675. Back then most people escaped the roaring flames by charging down toward the Market Square. Today in 2017, at the start of Northampton’s second season in League One after promotion back in 2016, there’s a new fire brewing.
This time the team escape via the transfer market.
Inspired by this post by u/Alexyani I decided to do a new season after my Nimes Olympique season got a little bit stale. I wanted a rules imposed career with difficulty and what better to keep my passion than my hometown team and the appointment of Mr. Yes, our new Director of Football. When asked if he wanted to deal with every transfer, he said “Yes”.
The problem is, Mr. Yes can only say “Yes”. He accepts every transfer offer.
So with the appointment of Mr. Yes and the mighty Shoe Army hiring me to lead the team to glory (or failure) I decided on some other rules:
RULES TO FEED THE FLAMES
  1. Every season I progress a year I can ‘hold’ another player to keep that I don’t have to sell (I’m not sure on this as it could stop my team going mad after 3 seasons, might cap it at three).
  2. I cannot hold any players from my own youth academy (thinking maybe regens as well for this).
  3. If I get a transfer offer for a youth player, I can knock Mr. Yes out cold with a tire-iron for the negotiations and do it myself (I felt a bit hard done by when one of my youth stars was getting 1.3mil offers when he’s worth 2mil, DON’T TAKE THE PISS BURNLEY).
  4. I can only sign two free agents and two pre-contracts.
  5. I can only loan in two players.
  6. I always play on Legendary, with the only sliders modified to put the quality of AI GKs down by 3 (I am really really bad at finishing, I’m like if Stevie Wonder was played through on goal by Iniesta). Halves are 6min.
  7. I cannot train players (speeds the season up and it’s honestly bullshit).
  8. I sim a decent amount of games even though the simming system is terrible, to cage the almighty god of Sixfields Stadium harnessing the powers of his newly bought mercenaries and raining swift 1-0 wins on every team I face tactically. The real reason is it makes it faster and a bit more realistic with my squad rating but I like to lie to myself to feel better.
  9. I do not transfer or loan list anyone.
  10. I record all the team and individual stats through seasons as I’m interested who will play the most games/score the most etc. through seasons.
I will say for this write up I’m not focusing at all on results/what happened and more on how the team changes.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SET YOUR ENTIRE TEAM ON FIRE? PAIN, FOR EVERYONE. SO MUCH PAIN. MAKE IT STOP.
SEASON ONE
PLAYERS KEPT IN THE NO CAGE: A. TAYLOR (CB)
Season One begins with fresh optimism from the newly appointed Danny Dorito looking to stamp his name on the scene. Previous hires include a masterful stint as Wooldale Tigers U16 Manager, where his tactically coined ‘Umbrella’ 1-1-8 attacking formation brought an incredible 16 losses in 16 games, conceding 103 goals and somehow only scoring 4. Sports fans across the world alike would be shocked to hear Danny Dorito got the job, but it’s quite easy when you go up to the Director of Football and ask when he only thing he says is “Yes”.
So, the transfer window begins immediately. It starts with these transfers out of the club:
https://preview.redd.it/58adeqpanwe11.png?width=430&format=png&auto=webp&s=e6ea20fc6d22ed643fa7f197e1d22b29e5257079
All of these transfers happened in the first window apart from Lamptey and Luckassen who I let leave on frees. I am sad about John-Joe O’Toole – he’s a bit of a club legend with one magnificent ponytail.
TO THE INS – these transfers out left me with squad gaps to fill and money to spend bringing in:
https://preview.redd.it/tiadcnadnwe11.png?width=421&format=png&auto=webp&s=12ad9850d5c9581444b42ba966b92ab476be5ab2
Thompson and Zichang were ample right-midfield options who rotated the first-team slot. Davies was a young right-back cover with decent physicals. Christjansen was my ponytail replacement, playing in the middle of the park like John-Joe sprouting a beautiful manbun. Chavez was a cheap left back option and Edge was another centre-mid brought in for rotation.
There were no transfers in or out in January, weirdly enough. Not sure why. Maybe because I was a bit shit?
The Cobblers finished in 11th, hitting the target of mid-table. We went nowhere in any cups because we’re allergic to metal (and winning).
Our season record was as follows:
https://preview.redd.it/iv95p3mfnwe11.png?width=876&format=png&auto=webp&s=97e3e684f9826956bab1c14b7ae2d57967265c4e
I will permanently be tracking my total points from the league. My top 5 players in terms of apps were O’Donnell in goal with 56 appearances (and 20 clean sheets might I add); the mighty centre-back Ash Taylor (who I chose to hold) with 50. Chris Long the Burnley loanee also brought in 50 apps and 12 goals. Matt Grimes brought in 46 apps and 10 goals, followed by Christjansen's 43 apps in the defensive midfielder mould notching 7 himself.
Overall, a successful season to start us off. Boy did it go downhill.
SEASON TWO
PLAYERS KEPT IN THE NO CAGE: A. TAYLOR (CB), J. CHRISTJANSEN (DM)
In Season Two, in a masterclass by Danny Dorito that only he could design and manufacture, he somehow managed to set the records of every player who transferred in January of 2018 on fire (nobody left in January 2017 and I didn’t consider the fact that the players leaving obviously wouldn’t be in my final squad list. As of the third season, I record the squad list records in January and update them if somebody gets a transfer offer until after the window).
Season Two started with an explosion of transfers the likes you’ve never seen (unless you've seen a mediocre explosion before like a slightly shit fireworks display):
https://preview.redd.it/52biunpxnwe11.png?width=551&format=png&auto=webp&s=94e519a5249e7f128fb229cc61afee15abf222cb
My entire first team was virtually butchered in front of my very eyes. Mr. Yes, mad from his crazed existence of the utterance of a single word, cut through my (mostly) rotation players and fed the vulturous teams around and mostly below me.
Struggling to survive, I ran to the local shop and picked up these fruity chaps:
https://preview.redd.it/g0w19c01owe11.png?width=541&format=png&auto=webp&s=1dfd52ba337ee1df1ba3c11f364d14fbd073c85f
Barrett filled in the central midfield role, with Saint-Maximin a promising free agent left back to rotate with Joe Bunney. Dona Ndoh was signed after the loss of Chris Long back to Burnley from his loan and the double signing of Gope-Fenepej (300 on scrabble) and Worthington to sure up the midfield set us up well. Sowunmi is an absolute unit of a centre back to rotate since Pierre stabbed me in the back and Akinola is a pacey wide or central option. With the youth academy churning out promising rotation options, our team was looking weak on overalls but good overall.
After being asked by Mr. Yes what our goals were, he pointed at the playoffs and said “Yes”. That didn’t go to plan as we basically fell down the stairs, broke every limb and finished 17th.
As you can tell from the dates and transfer values, January wasn't exactly a masterclass on how to operate a transfer window. I couldn’t find anyone suitable for a Van Veen replacement, time was running out, so I ended up re-signing Luckassen from the depths of no-mans land to fight again (at this point I had Akinola up front, as Dona Ndoh broke his leg two games in). Nkosi & Sarr were pre-contracts, so Northampton lost Van Veen and Crooks (arguably our two best players) filling them in with a 200k signing of a meatstick up top and a free agent we literally binned off last season. Oh boy. That is breaking your best china, popping down to Aldi and replacing it with a cardboard box and a voucher for toothpaste.
We also did poorly in every cup, our allergy to silverware hampering our best efforts. Our final result for season two:
https://preview.redd.it/8m2ha72dowe11.png?width=903&format=png&auto=webp&s=6e9d943d0459e4a8bddc183ae73b7ca194bbeea7
Our top players were O’Donnell in between the very leaky sticks again with 56 appearances, Christjansen with 55 (and eight goals), Taylor with 45 (and one very shit goal), Papel with 42 (and twelve goals, our top scorer) and Joe Bunney at left-back notching in 37 appearances and five goals. Our best youth prospect, P. Richardson, nailed 34 apps and 9 goals from attacking midfield/central midfield, rising his stock until I got stupidly low offers and implemented in rule number 3 to stop me scooping my eyes out with a spoon.
Luckily for us, Mr. Yes can only say yes (have I mentioned his freaky and slightly terrifying condition) so all I had to say was “Am I still in the job?”. Anger wrapped around his mouth and a small, solitary “yes” emitted from his lips. Season Three is on lads - and it’s going to be a doozy.
I’m probably going to carry on these write-ups until I’m bored of this season so anything else you want adding to the info let me know.
Cheers and UP THE TEYN!

2017.11.04 09:41 G3nesis_Prime Regarding the USN Cruiser split controversy and the use of "paper/fake" ships.

Warning - semi long post ahead
So there has been a little bit of controversy these past couple of days regarding the news of the USN cruiser split. There is a percentage of people who think that just because the USN produced so many ships during the time period of 1890 - 1960 there would only be commissioned ships and no fakes.
I just want to cast light on the fact that whilst the USN did produce many difference classes there is a shortage of options.
Disclaimer as all the data comes from Wikipedia, there may be slight inaccuracies but it's the most common and easily available reference tool. Also we are looking at the real life stats, as far as balancing goes you can gimp a ship to meet a tier ala Cleveland BUT... there are people who have issues with that as well :/
Class Name Launch Date Class Type In Game Tier Notes
Atlanta/Boston 1884 Protected
Chicago 1885 Protected
Maine 1889 Armoured
New York 1891 Armoured
Columbia 1892 Protected
Olympia 1892 Protected
Brooklyn 1895 Armoured
New Orleans 1896 Protected 2 USS Albany in game
Denver 1902 Protected
Pennsylvania 1903 Armoured
Tennessee 1904 Armoured
St. Louis 1905 Protected 3
Chester 1907 Scout 2
Omaha 1920 Light 5
Pensacola 1929 Heavy 6 First WNT Cruiser
Northampton 1929 Heavy Refined Pensacola
Portland 1931 Heavy 7 (USS Indianapolis in game ) Modified Northampton
Astoria 1933 Heavy First LNT Cruiser
New Orleans 1933 Heavy 7 Modified Astoria (Class formally changed to New Orleans after Astoria sunk in combat)
Brooklyn 1936 Light Refined New Orleans
Wichita 1937 Heavy New Orleans armament on a Brooklyn hull
St. Louis-class 1938 Light Last LNT cruisers ( USS Helena in game) Modified Brooklyn
Atlanta 1941 Light 7 127mm CLAA
Oakland 1942 Light (USS Flint in game ) Modified Atlanta
Cleveland 1941 Light 7 First post LNT CL
Baltimore 1942 Heavy 8 First post LNT CA
Fargo 1945 Light Modified Cleveland
Juneau 1945 Light Modified Atlanta
Oregon City 1945 Heavy Modified Baltimore
Des Moines 1946 Heavy 10 Last all gun CA
Worcester 1947 Light 10 Last all gun CL
With the 1896 New Orleans class in game as the Albany at T2 and the 1905 St Louis and Chester at T3 & T2 respectfully there are no other worthy candidates in the small bracket. However at T4 we find our first problem.
T4 & T5
There is 13 years difference between the launch date of the first Omaha class light cruiser and the launch date of the first Chester Class however that's comparing T5 to the T2 in game. Comparing the T5 to the T3 and the gap is 15 years and there is more than just an age gap but a combat effectiveness disparity.
St Louis has 14 x 152mm primaries, 22knt speed and 102mm belt and a 76mm deck armour.
Omaha has 2x2 152mm, 8x1 152mm primaries and 2x3 torpedo launchers, 35knts speed with 76mm belt and 38mm deck armour.
Whilst the St Louis has 2 more 152mm rifles they are off an older design compared to the ones on the Omaha class. The St Louise also doesn't have torpedo's and the Omaha is approx. 55% faster..
This is why WG put the paper ship Phoenix in at T4, simply because in the time period the USN didn't commission any new ships, they may designed many but the records no longer exist.

T6
Now moving onto the T6 heavy cruisers it starts to become clear why things get more difficult. As far as in game balancing goes the difference between a Pensacola, Northampton & Portland really isn't that much. Pensacola has a unique 2x2 + 2x3 in a ABXY configuration unlike the Northampton/Portland which get a more conventional going forward 3x3 ABX configuration. They all share the same 203/55mm rifles, same top speed give or take .2 knots and the AA suite and armour thickness is progressive with Pensacola having the least and Portland having the most but the difference in game is negligible.
So what ship best fits as a T6 CL?, Atlanta and Flint are currently in the game as T7 and whilst they lack armour they fit T7 perfectly. Brooklyn and the St Louis have the same armament as the Atlanta but they have theirs arranged in a ABCXY configuration in triple turrets whilst the Atlanta has a ABCPQXYZ with two turrets on the side and Oakland & Juneau only have a ABCXYZ layout in twin turrets. Juneau also sacrificed torpedoes for even more AA and Brooklyn/St Loius didn't even have them. However Brooklyn and the St Louis possesses are far more heavily armoured compared to the Atlanta's/Oaklands/Juneaus possessing more than 2 inches of belt armour, 1 inch more deck armour and still being 1knt faster. AA is about the same and without someone knowledge regarding AA calculations they appear to come out roughly the same.
This is why WG has put the paper ship Dallas at T6, St Louis (Helena in game) is far too capable ship which is why it's theorised the T6 is a either an upgraded Omaha with ABXY or a design prelim for Brooklyn. To fit a ship into T6 would to heavily nerf it to the point we would have another Cleveland scenario.

T7
Astoria/New Orleans fits into T7 CA quite well, it's an incremental ship design over the preceding Pensacola/Northampton/Portland class with marginally better armour and AA. The reason WG probably chose the Pensacola as the T6 over the Northampton and Portland is the different turret layout and least armour for the three treaty ships.
St Louis fits into T7 CL spot perfectly as already covered in the T6 part.
USS Wichita is an obvious premium since it's the T7 CLA guns on the T7 CAL hull.

T8
At T8 we get the Baltimore class heavy cruisers and the Cleveland class light cruisers, both of which are an improved design over their predecessors. Baltimore still uses the same 203mm rifles firing at 4rpm but the Cleveland class now used 150mm rifles rated at 10rpm. over the 127mm rifles used on the St Louis class (Misinterpreted Wikipedia). Baltimore has another 25mm belt armour over New Orleans and Cleveland features an improved armour layout and TDS system. Both Oregon City and the Fargo class (CA & CL respectfully) are minor improvements aimed to increase sea worthiness and AA effectiveness, neither which matter in game.

T9
Tier 9 is the first tier since tier 4 when we find ourselves without a ship that can slot in between the tier 8 and 10. Des Moines wouldn't work at T9 with a nerf to it's RoF because without it's RoF it's simply a slightly better Baltimore. Baltimore before the line split has been over buffed to fit into T9 with an increase to it's RPM. A similar issue is found with trying to fit a Cleveland or Worcester into T9. A buff to the reload of the Cleveland or a nerf the Worcester would also rob them of their true identity.
This is why WG has chosen to put a design project into the T9 CA spot to help bridge the gap between Baltimore and Des Moines. It is unknown what WG has done with the T9 CL but it is most likely either a Cleveland design study or a Worcester.

T10
To top the list off we get the Des Moines class heavy cruisers and the Worcester class light cruiser at T10. Des Moines class featured auto loading (7RPM) 203mm rifles firing SHS shells designed to plunge into weaker decks of enemy ships rather than the strong belt amour. The Worcester class had fast firing (5rpm) DP 150mm rifles designed to fire a SHS but lacked an autoloader, design schematics where drawn up of an auto loading version but none where built. They featured similar amour arrangements and AA as the previous Baltimore/Oregon City & Cleveland/Fargo classes. The key difference between the classes is the firepower of the main guns.
TL:DR
The USN seemed to build their ships in 3 different versions before having a look at what worked and what didn't and building a new improved class. What this results in is many different classes but not many significant issues, it's a very incremental progression born from a place of logic and reason.
This process however causes a significant enough issue in game between T3 and T5 as well as T8 & T10 requiring a design study to fill in the power vacuum.
So I am sure there is some minor factual issues and I never intended this post to be this big or to post it twice accidentally unfinished. I'm also not a naval historian so please forgive me if I was too vague.
